A LOOK AT THE WORK OF ANNAMARIE SCHIMMEL

Abstract

In 1995, the leading German scholar of Islam, Anne-Marie Schimmel,
published a new work in Germany, titled “John in My Zone”. Now, thanks to the
translation of this book into Uzbek, both Uzbek librarians will have the opportunity
to get to know and enjoy the blessings of one of the heroes of this hard-working
masterpiece. Mr. Schimmel has been contributing his valuable contribution to the
work of providing deep and comprehensive information on the religious
interpretation of Islam to all cultural believers for nearly fifty years. On October 15,
1995, Mr. Schimmel was awarded the Tinchlick Prize of the German Book Trade
Organization. This is the highest honor in the academic life of Mrs. Shimmel and
the highest honor awarded for her services.
