Abstract

According to different authors, neuropathy of the facial nerve
accounts for about 3% of diseases of the peripheral nervous system (14-25 cases
per 100,000 population), and has no gender differences, while the incidence during
and life varies. Idiopathic neuropathies are observed in 75% of patients, otogenic -
in 15%, other etiology - in 10% of patients. But there are very few reliable sources
of the frequency of occurrence, course and prognosis of neuropathy of the facial
nerve in children, its spread [3,5].
