Abstract
The article presents the results of field studies related to the establishment
of some genetic patterns of variability, inheritance and heritability of the "staple
fiber length" trait in geographically distant, varietal-linear F1-F2 cotton hybrids
of the species G.barbadense L. Some genetic patterns have been established that
allow us to identify promising initial forms for hybridization and create F1-F2
hybrids based on the best, followed by a recommendation of the best for further
breeding work
