Abstract

The paper presents the results of a study of an unknown tablet that was
submitted for chemical and toxicological analysis by IR spectrophotometry and
GCMS. The presence of chlorpromazine in an unknown tablet has been
established. The structure of chlorpromazine and its structural formula have been
confirmed by IR spectrophotometric and gas chromatography-mass spectrometric
analysis. Chlorpromazine is a neuroleptic from the group of phenothiazine
derivatives. It has an antipsychotic and sedative effect
