INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN REGIONAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND ITS STRUCTURAL ADAPTATION IN REGIONAL ECONOMIES

Abstract

In the modern global economy, regional tourism serves as a powerful
multi-layered macroeconomic catalyst for sub-national territorial development. This
study evaluates globally successful models of regional tourism management to extract
scalable structural principles for emerging regional economies. Utilizing systemic
structural analysis and comparative institutional profiling, this paper analyzes the
structural frameworks of decentralized, cluster-based, and digitally integrated tourism
networks across advanced tourism nations. The study structures a taxonomy of
foreign frameworks, demonstrating that point-to-point infrastructural balancing and
decentralized Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) effectively minimize
territorial economic leakages and expand the long-term Return on Investment (ROI)
of the regional tourism complex.
