Abstract
The rapid development of digital technologies has significantly transformed the way people communicate. Social media platforms have become an essential part of everyday life, particularly among young people. As a result, a new form of communication characterized by abbreviations, emojis, internet slang, and borrowed vocabulary has emerged. This article examines the influence of social media language on youth speech, highlighting both its positive and negative effects. The study reveals that while social media contributes to the expansion of vocabulary, intercultural communication, and language learning opportunities, it may also lead to a decline in literacy, excessive use of non-standard language, and weakening of traditional linguistic norms. The paper emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between digital communication practices and the preservation of language culture.
