Abstract
Phrasal verbs exhibit exceptional complexity and idiosyncratic features that complicate both their classification and the derivation of their context-dependent meanings. These inherent characteristics preclude the categorization of phrasal verbs alongside other phraseological units, serving as a catalyst for ongoing and unresolved debates among linguists. This article aims to provide a comprehensive classification of English phrasal verbs, highlighting their linguistic properties and pedagogical relevance.
