Abstract

We have already said above that primary acute herpetic stomatitis develops
in children usually at the age of 6 months to 3 years. At this age, the titer of
antibodies to the herpes virus (obtained from the mother) weakens in the child so
much that with the next contact with a person who has clinical manifestations of
herpes, or contact simply with an asymptomatic carrier, the herpes virus penetrates
through the mucous membrane. Infection occurs by contact or airborne droplets
