Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common and socially significant pathologies in modern medicine. In particular, arterial hypertension and endothelial dysfunction are closely related to vascular tone disorders. In recent years, special attention has been paid to the study of the vasorelaxant properties of biologically active compounds isolated from natural sources, including alkaloid and flavonoid conjugates. This article extensively covers the mechanisms of action of certain alkaloids and flavonoid conjugates on vascular smooth muscle, their endothelium-dependent and non-endothelium pathways, as well as their implementation through ion channels and the antioxidant system, based on scientific data.
