Abstract
This article examines the role of simulation-based educational technologies in
the formation and development of professional competencies of future physicians.
Simulation-based learning is considered as an effective pedagogical approach that
enables medical students to acquire practical skills, clinical thinking, and decisionmaking
abilities in a safe and controlled environment. The study highlights how the
use of simulators, mannequins, virtual patients, and scenario-based training
contributes to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real clinical
practice. Particular attention is paid to the development of key competencies such as
clinical competence, communication skills, teamwork, and responsibility for patient
safety. The article emphasizes that simulation-based education enhances students’
confidence, reduces the risk of medical errors, and supports a competency-based
approach in modern medical education. The findings confirm that integrating
simulation technologies into medical curricula plays a crucial role in preparing
highly qualified and competitive healthcare professionals.
