INTERNATIONAL SAFETY STANDARTS AND RULES THAT EVERY DOCTOR SHOULD KNOW

Abstract
The deontological model of medical ethics is valuable in that it
orients doctors to fulfill their professional duty not only by performing standard
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, but also through showing compassion,
respect for the patient's feelings, understanding his difficulties, and creating
confidence in a positive outcome of treatment. A feature of the deontological model
of medical ethics during its heyday in Soviet medicine was the paternalistic,
authoritarian attitude of the doctor to the patient. The bioethical model of medical
ethics is valuable in that it gives patients the opportunity to be well informed about
the diagnosis, proposed methods of treatment, and prospects, and also makes it
possible for the patient to exercise his choice to agree or refuse the measures
proposed by the doctor, focusing on the information received.
