Abstract
This paper explores the emergence and development of Romanticism in Uzbek
literature, tracing its influence from the 19th century to the early 20th century. It
highlights how Uzbek writers adapted Romantic ideals such as individual freedom,
emotional expression, and the celebration of nature and national identity within their
historical and cultural contexts. The study examines key figures like Furqat, Muqimiy,
and Cholpon, whose works embody Romantic themes through lyrical expression,
patriotic sentiment, and personal introspection. Additionally, the paper investigates
how Romanticism contributed to the transformation of Uzbek poetic and prose
traditions, paving the way for modern literary movements. By analyzing selected
literary texts, this research aims to offer deeper insights into the Romantic spirit in
Uzbek literature and its enduring legacy in the region’s literary history
