Abstract

The teaching of Russian as a foreign language (RFL) is a field that has seen
significant changes over recent decades due to global educational developments and
the increasing number of people learning Russian worldwide. Despite its rich history
and cultural significance, RFL faces several challenges in terms of pedagogical
approaches, teaching materials, and the integration of technology into the learning
process. This article examines the contemporary issues in teaching Russian as a
foreign language, including the need for updated methodologies, the role of
communicative competence, the use of technology, and the challenge of addressing
the cultural context of the language.
