Abstract
This paper explores the fundamental relationship between mathematical
functions and the design of algorithms. Mathematical functions provide the building
blocks for many computational processes, enabling the precise manipulation and
transformation of data. We examine how various types of mathematical functions,
including linear, polynomial, trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, and piecewise
functions, are utilized in algorithm development. The paper delves into the practical
application of these functions in creating algorithms for diverse tasks such as data
processing, optimization, numerical analysis, and machine learning. We present the
general principles of transforming mathematical functions into algorithmic steps,
including the use of loops, conditional statements, and recursion. This paper also
looks at the computational cost and efficiency of algorithms based on different types
of mathematical functions.
