Abstract
This article analyzes the significance of characters and figures in
literary works, particularly examining key characters in Ulugbek Hamdam’s novel
"Father." The author uses characters to serve the idea of the literary work, and both
main and secondary characters play a crucial role in the novel's plot.
The article highlights figures such as "ma'bud" (idol) and Oychechak opa (Aunt
Oychechak), demonstrating their unique qualities and their role in the plot. The
importance of the character Erboy is particularly recognized, as he appears as a
driving force in the main events of the work and influences the life of Po'lat.
