Abstract
This paper examines the complex and sensitive issue of educating students in
the spirit of military patriotism. It explores the various interpretations of the term
"military patriotism," highlighting the potential for misuse and the importance of
balancing patriotism with critical thinking, non-violence, and respect for diversity.
The paper argues that a more effective and ethical approach focuses on nurturing
civic responsibility, global citizenship, and critical thinking skills, while
acknowledging the historical realities of war and conflict and promoting
understanding of peacemaking and humanitarian efforts
