Abstract
Health psychology plays a critical role in understanding how
psychological, behavioral, and social factors influence human health and wellbeing. This interdisciplinary field integrates insights from psychology, medicine,
and public health to address how individuals cope with illness, manage stress, and
adopt health-promoting behaviors. It explores the psychological underpinnings of
health behaviors, such as smoking cessation, exercise, and adherence to medical
advice, while also examining the impact of chronic illness, pain, and mental health
on physical well-being. By studying the interaction between mind and body, health
psychology provides valuable strategies for prevention, treatment, and management
of both acute and chronic conditions. This article discusses the key contributions of
health psychology in promoting overall health, enhancing quality of life, and
supporting individuals in managing illnesses effectively
