Abstract
This exploration highlights key aspects of translation, including the
tension between literalism and creative adaptation, the challenges posed by
untranslatable words and concepts, and the critical role translators play as cultural
mediators. Literary translation, in particular, demands a heightened level of
creativity to capture the essence of the original work while allowing it to breathe in
a new linguistic form. The translator, thus, becomes both an interpreter and a cocreator, shaping a text that is both faithful to the source and engaging for a new
audience
